The Hipster PDA Keychain

by Brad Isaac on January 9, 2006

I’ve heard a lot about the “Hipster PDAs” over the last year or so. What are they? It appears they are simply 3×5 cards with a binder clip on them to hold them together in your pocket. They are low tech, inexpensive and can be used by anyone who has a pen or pencil and something they need to jot down. David Kadavy, thinks, as I do, the 3×5 cards can get a little big and bulky at times. So he’s come up with a different solution. The Hipster PDA Keychain. These are small, can hold one line or two of info and since they are attached to your keychain, you’ll be sure to misplace them a lot (JOKING!)

“I call my solution the Hipster PDA Keychain, and it’s construction is very simple:

1. Take a stack of 3×5 cards, and cut them in fourths with scissors or a utility knife, until you have a stack of 1.5×2.5 cards about 1/4″ thick
2. Bind the stack of cards together with a 3/4″ binder clip
3. Loop the eye of one of the binder clip handles onto your keychain”
