myWiki Widget for Opera Browser

by Brad Isaac on August 15, 2006

An interesting little widget for Opera browser caught my eye today. myWiki is a personal Wiki you can keep on your desktop to keep notes, ideas and other non-sensitive data handy. I loaded it to take it for a test drive and found it to be pretty nice – however confusing to get started. The only way to add something new to the Wiki was to do a search for it – and then you had the option to add it. In other words if you wanted a new Wiki called Resume ideas, you’d have to first search for Resume ideas (which doesn’t exist). Then you’d get the option to add that page to your wiki.

Editing is easy, but I see no way to delete a page. When you first load it, there is a page called “sample.” You can edit that page, but not delete it – at least from what I can tell. I guess I’ll have to do a search on my computer to find the text file and edit it manually.

Otherwise, it appears to be one of the best Opera widgets I’ve seen so far.
