I'll never forget the time this couple came to me to ask advice about buying a house. I simply asked "What type of house do you want?" They said they didn't know. So I recommended they tour a few open houses or call a Realtor. I'll never forget the wife's response... "Oh we could never do that... we aren't ready to buy and we're afraid to look too poor." I was flabbergasted. "What? You don't have to buy a house just because you tour it during an open house." But they wouldn't budge. They wanted me to recommend a house based on their yearly income only. I couldn't help them. So I said, tour a few houses and get back to me when you have a house in mind you want. That was probably 13 years ago and they never got back in touch so... who knows if they every worked up the nerve to look at a house that was for sale. Ria – Yes, it is a killer for some people.
