Google (gears) and Adobe (air) are moving to the desktop for a reason.

Being info centered is a lot more web2.0 in my opinion than more common social centering. It leverages information to create networks.

It will either be substituted by things like Flock, or other web-based apps. Poeple don’t need to be ofline so much anymore and moving web stuff out of the web just doesn’t make sense…
