Beta: Convert this blog to pdf

by Brad Isaac on May 13, 2008

I was working on some background blog cleanup when I stumbled on a cool plug-in called Web2pdf that converts any and all blog posts to pdf (Acrobat) format.

I took the 30 seconds and installed it just for fun.

Give it a try on any post here by clicking on the Save page as pdf button

Might I suggest to new readers to look over to the right under the Popular Posts?  Those would be a good place to start for PDF generation.

Let me know what you think!

Brad,

Very interesting.

I gave it a try and found that the resulting PDF stripped out all of the links, but turned the full URL’s at the bottom of the Google Ads into active links!

Overall, it would be better if a simplified style sheet was applied to pdf conversions that stripped out things like Adsense and contact forms since they are usable anyway.

I would keep looking for something that gives you some linking and branding control over the final product and results in a more attractive looking page.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll see if I can tweak it some to get rid of the artifacts.

I tried it but it excluded all the photos. Does it supposed to work this way?
