jkOnTheRun Testing Blogging tool BlogJet

Posted under Uncategorized

My friend James from jkOnTheRun points us to a new blogging tool called blogjet that you can use offline to post updates to your blog or blogs. It might be a handy tool to have on hand if and when your internet access is not present or you are sitting on the bus writing to your blog. It offers some additional features such as smilies and voicenotes.

I am testing the BlogJet program for creating blog posts offline for upload at a later time. BlogJet looks really nice since it works with just about every blogging service out there (TypePad included) and most importantly lets me include graphic smileys! I have used the program in the past but got away from it due to some early incompatibility problems with my particular setup but I think this current version (1.5) will work OK.

Hi, any good offline Pocket PC Blogging software out there? I’ve used a few including Pocket Blog, but they all seem to have problems when trying to update after a while. Good Luck getting the old site up again.

Well, I had heard of Pocket Blog before, but your question persuaded me to look it up. There is a program called Diarist, or PocketBlogwriter. I can’t tell exactly. It’s here:

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately I’ve tried this one before and it didn’t do the job (downloaded again just to make sure). No facility to download previous content for editing, can’t save posts and didn’t even connect to Blogger this time. Not to worry I’ll write my own as I know roughly what I want - can’t be that hard (?) and there must be more than just me interested in blogging on my PPC, will post link/copy when done.

BTW: for those not worried about off-line posts the other blogging software I tried was called pocketpc blogger http://www.pocketblogger.net
. Feels slightly better than Diarist and uses the latest Atom api.

Have fun

OFF-LINE blogger found.

Sorry for yet another comment but just found another ppc blogger.

This allows you to download your previous entries, create multiple entries and post them at a later date.

The only thing that’s not clear is where is askes for URL, this is the sites API location (blogger.com is http://www.blogger.com/api).

Disadvantages are that you can’t put a title in the correct place only in the body of the text.

Another problem is that when you save as draft this is on the local pc not as draft on your blog. But now I’m being picky.

Hay hum - don’t need to write my dodgy app now :-)

Thanks for the link. Don’t be sorry for posting another follow up. I like the company! :)

I might just have to try that and see if it works with typepad.
