The new “Crystal Meth” of the Snack Food World
Posted under ThoughtsAllow me to introduce you to the new Crystal Meth of the Snack Food World: Snap Pea Crisps. You might be thinking I am exagerrating. I’m afraid not…my frenchy friend.
I went up to the organic food store this morning to get some eggs for breakfast when I stumbled on a display of these crisps. They had a sample, and to spite my initial “ewww…” thoughts, I took one to try. It was really good. As I checked out, the cashier warned me. “Watch those things..they are addictive.” I thought “HA! Yeah right. This is the type of thing that sits around my house for months uneaten. I’ll eventually throw it out like those rice cakes that keep mysteriously appearing in our pantry. ”
I brought them home and my wife laughed. My kids looked suspicious. I said we’d open them for lunch.
Well, we just had lunch and I have to say, there is not one Snap pea crisp left. The whole bag is gone. I can’t describe the taste except to say they have a light, airy fresh taste. The crunch is nice too. Hard to believe they might actually be good for ya.

I just came back from Trader Joe’s w/a bag of these and ate nearly the whole bag by myself. They are the best thing ever–i found your blog doing research on them. I think they are deep fried though..that explains the 600 calories worth i just ate.
:) It’s amazing something like pea pods can be so good huh? I sort of wish the bag was bigger, yet glad it’s small at the same time. It’s pretty easy to total the whole bag.
i’ve had many bags of this. i’ve had cravings. it’s good. i wonder what it is? i’ve had some bags that were not as crisp as usual, though.
Hi, I can?t understand how to add your site in my rss reader. Can you Help me, please :)
