Computer Geniuses Who Make Housecalls Offer Their Services Free Until March 15th

by Brad Isaac on February 27, 2008

Many of you already know about Phil Gerbyshak. He dropped me a note today to let me know about his new business. And it looks like a great idea!

Minute Fix

It’s called MinuteFix and what it is is a group of top of the line computer technicians who help you solve your computer problems from the comfort of your own home. When I first heard about remote repair services like this, I was skeptical because I knew what the going rate for technicians was due to me hiring them at our company.

I figured the cost of connecting and working with someone remotely would be far too expensive for the average home user. It just seemed to be too much risk of being overcharged.

That’s where I think Phil and MinuteFix probably have a winner on their hands. Their service reverses the risk by giving the client a free 5 minute consultation and then charging afterwards and only if they fix the problem. The average computer repair in my city runs $75 an hour.

Do you work from home and have the occasional annoying technical problem that you can’t figure out, but you don’t want to go in and pay the Geek Squad $50 or more an hour to do something you KNOW can’t take more than 3 or 4 minutes?

Do you have a home PC that you’re dying to set up with wireless, but your team of helpers consists of the 17 year old neighbor kid you know is setting up your network so he can surf the web without his parents knowing?

They are also offering their services for free until March 15th…

There’s no cost until March 15th, so I’d bet you can get a few of your problems fixed, or at the least, you’d know that we are a great company and one you can count on to fix those annoying computer problems you’ve been having for years.

I must say, it is mighty tempting for me to take advantage of the offer. I’ve been looking for a fix that lets me use Windows Live Writer for this blog again. After I installed the feedfooter plugin it broke something in the connection string and I can’t use it anymore. And right now, I don’t have time to find the problem. It would be great to get someone else to fix it for me.

But I digress…

Congrats Phil with the new business and best of luck!

Thank YOU for spreading the word. You are the best!

•At SupportSpace all customers received a complementary session on SupportSpace during the beta phase. As we value the experts’ efforts to provide the best service possible, these sessions were sponsored by SupportSpace meaning experts got paid although for customers it was free.
•SupportSpace still runs several “First Session Free” campaigns through its affiliates
•SupportSpace sends a “complementary session coupon” to new users invited by its existing customers. To read more about it, please visit our blog at http://IAMAHUGESPAMMER.SUPPORTSPACE.COM

Run this sort of business myself and I find the idea of free time for new customers or a free “visit” for first time caller. I may try it myself. Thanks for the tip. We do struggle overcoming a “overcharge / underdeliver” cloud in this industry and this might just be the ticket to a sunny day.
