Put Technorati Mini in Your Opera Panels

by Brad Isaac on November 22, 2005

This post is prompted by Steve Rubel’s procedures on how to place a Technorati Mini search into a Firefox panel. The problem is I use Opera browser. I don’t really feel like switching browsers right now, so I thought it would be cool to get it running in an Opera Panel too.

Turns out, it is really pretty easy and virtually the same instructions that Steve gives for the Firefox browser.

1. Visit Technorati mini and enter your search
2. Bookmark the pop-up window
3. Right-click on the shortcut and choose properties. At the bottom of the window that appears, put a check mark in the “show in panel” and then hit OK.

Here’s what it will look like:

Now you have a Technorati Mini search panel in your Opera browser. It will update every 60 seconds with your particular search term as long as you leave the panel open. Pretty neat!
