Performancing for Firefox version 1.1 Released

by Brad Isaac on January 24, 2006

I just downloaded Performancing for Firefox version 1.1 that was released earlier today.  In fact, I am trying it out on this post.  It was a little tough to get things started, because alot of the options come disabled by default.  So if you are new to Performancing, you might want to enable everything at first and then scale it back as you find the stuff you don’t need.  I like tagging, and sending trackbacks (a new feature) but both are disabled by default.

Another cool option is it’s pretty much a full html editor with rich text features from the main page.

Some of the other additions include automatic pings, bookmarking at del.icio.us and Technorati/Delicious integration.  I have to admit I haven’t quite figured out what the Technorati and delicious management page tools do aside from let you view the links to and from a particular page.  But they are nice to have.

Overall, it’s a really handy addition.  Is it enough to make me switch to Firefox from Opera?  Not yet, but when they integrate image uploading from Performancing, I might be swayed to make the switch.
