“Dead” Productivity Software Kept Alive by Enthusiastic Users

Posted under Productivity

An interesting post over at jkOnTheRun points to an "amazing" outliner/personal information manager that is supported by an enthusiastic user base as opposed to the developers.  Apparently, the developer stopped working on it back in 1997, yet it’s still popular with over 3200 members in it’s Yahoo Group.  I have never used EccoPro, but it seems like it might be a good organizer offering contact management, address book, scheduling, Palm support and you can share information in a workgroup.

"ECCO PRO, the Personal Information Manager with the most awards in history, brings together your contacts, calendar, appointments, tasks and projects in one integrated, customizable application. Even in todays operating environments of Windows 2000 or XP, this amazing piece of software, with a development stop in 1997, still shows it strength compared to todays PIM’s. With ECCO PRO you always have the information you need at your fingertips!"
