I’m pleased to announce the latest version of Achieve-IT! goal setting software for Windows has been released. This version contains a number of enhancements I think you’ll really like.
By the way, I have a confession… there’s more than what I’ve listed below. I need to work on documenting what I am doing. I normally just build and fix items without thinking to write them down. So in a nutshell, there’s stuff I am forgetting to list. But here is the list from memory…
Enhancements:
- The biggest feature addition is a new Refine wizard adds an "automatic" step through that according to testers is infinitely better than the old manual way.
- Additionally, there is a new way to check for upgrades automatically via the Utility menu (makes it easy to make sure you are always running the most recent version)
- Tuned up the interface to make the program easier to use
Bugfixes:
- Fixed define module sorting
- Repaired an error in the Plan of Action when there was a freeze when returning to Home screen and then back
- Repaired an error in the Plan of Action module where there was a "Nullreference" exception when clicking the steps list
- Repaired the view of the Register screen
- Corrected a view issue where certain module pages would cover and bleed over buttons
Download Achieve-IT!_Desktop_setup.exe (2962.1K)
If you would like to register, it’s still at the introductory price of $29.97. Visit the Achieve-IT! desktop page at SmartGoalSoftware.com for more information.
Enjoy! And let me know what you think.

Wow! I really like the new interface enhancements! Makes it much easier and more intuitive.
Thanks
It’s been suggested I roll that into the vision module as well to make it more intuitive. I am going to break ground on that today and see how it goes.
Does everyone like the new wizard? Does anyone not like it better?
Hello,
Thank you Brad for working on improving the software. Look forward to see the new differences.
Just wondering if is it just me or anyone else who may have had difficulties downloading the latest update of Achieve-IT! Desktop? I tried on two different computers on two different days, yet over a period of five minutes, I still can’t download more than 0% of the content.
Regards,
John
Brad,
Never mind about the situation above.
I have downloaded the software.
A couple more questions for you:
1. When I use “Reword” in “Refine”, I get “An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be shut down immediately.
Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: “null” is not a valid value for ‘value’.” I have uninstalled the software and reinstalled it three times and still get the same problem. Any thing else, I can do to fix this problem?
2. After entering all the info in “Expand” under “Refine”, where can I go to view these details at a later time? Currently, I can’t find a way to view these after they have been entered. I didn’t see any details of this in the help mannual. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your support.

John,
I am unable to reproduce item #1 above. have you entered a lot of goals? If not, you might want to uninstall and then delete the Achieve-IT! folder on your desktop under Program files and install again. (I will email you an installer). It’s possible the database was corrupted when you installed. If so, it won’t be deleted when you uninstall or reinstall.
Where are you getting the Null error?
2. Under Expand and Pitfalls, you should be able to click each goal and see what you entered, are you not seeing it?
Thanks for using Achieve-IT! software
Brad,
Thank you for the installer. Combination of the installer and deleting the the fold as you described worked for #1 above.
As for #2, I still can’t see the information I entered under “Expand” and “Pitfalls”. When I clicked on these and the specific goal, the bottom window came out empty, as if it is ready for me to enter more datas. Maybe I am not doing something right.
Thanks again for great support.
John
